Esports fans in Gujarat are experiencing the Battlegrounds Mobile India Masters Series (BGMS) like never before. For the first time, the tournament is streaming a Gujarati language feed, co-produced by the Duolingo English Test (DET), bringing the thrill of competitive gaming closer to audiences in their own tongue.
According to BGMS press release, the Gujarati commentary stream attracted an impressive 165,000 viewers on Day 1 across NODWIN Gaming and DET’s YouTube channels. Running from August 18 to September 14, 2025, Season 4 of BGMS features 164 matches with commentary from well-known casters Jayesh Prajapati (Engineer The Gamer), Vinod Keshwala (Firestar), and Jitendra Patel. Fans can also join watch parties hosted by popular Gujarati streamers, turning the event into a community celebration.
The collaboration is equally significant for DET, a globally accepted and affordable English proficiency test recognized by nearly 6,000 universities worldwide. Gujarat, being one of India’s leading study-abroad hubs, represents a key audience for DET. By associating with esports, the platform is tapping into cultural spaces most relevant to Gen Z while building stronger connections with the youth in one of the country’s fastest-growing gaming markets.
BGMS Season 4 boasts a Rs.1.5 crore prize pool and a lineup of 48 competing teams — 24 in the Masters Series League Stage and 24 in the Challengers Series League Stage. The addition of a Gujarati feed not only localises the experience but also gives fans access to stories of rising stars as they progress through the tournament.
“Regional-language content is the next frontier for our industry,” said Akshat Rathee, Co-Founder and MD, NODWIN Gaming. “With DET as our partner, we’re creating experiences that feel personal, empowering, and reflective of India’s diverse voices.”
Echoing this, Tara Kapur, India Market Lead, Duolingo English Test, said, “Gujarat is a powerhouse — it leads in study abroad and gaming. Esports is the language of today’s youth, and we are thrilled to connect with this vibrant community through BGMS.”
Fans can continue to catch the Gujarati feed of BGMS Season 4 live on the YouTube channels of NODWIN Gaming and the Duolingo English Test, as esports charts a new chapter in regional-language engagement.
