WinZO, India’s largest homegrown interactive entertainment platform with an ecosystem of 250 million users across 15 languages, today announced the launch of the WinZO Short Drama Championship – the world’s first-ever global competition dedicated to microdrama creators. The initiative marks a historic step in bringing Indian storytelling to an international stage while opening doors for global creators to showcase their art.
Winners of the championship will receive production deals, full sponsorship to commission their projects, and long-term collaborations to produce original content for WinZO TV – the company’s newly launched microdrama platform. In addition, their content will be amplified to WinZO’s 250 million-strong global audience and spotlighted at marquee cultural and entertainment events. Submissions will be judged on originality, creativity, and narrative strength, while audience engagement will play a decisive role in final selections.
“At WinZO, we’ve always believed that India’s cultural capital is its greatest export. We built WinZO as a platform to democratise opportunities for creators—first in gaming, and now in storytelling. India has the talent, artistry, and scale to lead the global microdrama revolution. Our job is to empower them with the stage, the tools, and the audience,” said Paavan Nanda, Co-Founder, WinZO.
Since its launch in 2018, WinZO has pioneered interactive entertainment by enabling developers and creators to monetize their content at scale while reaching millions of users. With a diverse portfolio of over 100 games spanning esports, social formats, and casual genres, the platform has built a thriving global presence across India, Brazil, and the United States.
On 24th August 2025, WinZO unveiled WinZO TV, its mobile-first, vernacular storytelling platform dedicated to microdramas. The launch of the Short Drama Championship is its first large-scale initiative to create the world’s largest library of microdrama content, giving creators access to financial support, creative freedom, and unmatched global visibility.
By backing original content and creators with resources and reach, WinZO aims to position India as the epicentre of the microdrama revolution, shaping the future of digital entertainment exports.
