Shridhar Venkataramana has joined YouTube India as Strategic Partner Manager, Content Partnerships, where he will be responsible for managing and nurturing key content partnerships for the platform. He will be based in Mumbai.
Venkataramana announced the move in a LinkedIn post, writing: “From being on YouTube to being in YouTube!! I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Strategic Partner Manager, Content Partnerships at YouTube!”
His appointment marks a new chapter after more than nine years in the sports broadcasting and streaming industry, where he held senior roles across Star Sports, Viacom18 Sports, and JioStar. Describing his professional journey so far as “incredibly fulfilling” and “nothing short of transformational,” he credited his growth to “inspiring colleagues and the vibrant cultures” he was part of.
Most recently, Venkataramana served as Senior Director – Cricket Brand Solutions at Viacom18 Media Pvt Ltd from August 2022 to August 2025. Prior to this, he spent over six years at Star TV Network, progressing through roles including Senior Manager – Brand Solutions (Cricket), Manager – Brand Solutions (Cricket), and Manager – Revenue Strategy (Cricket). During this period, he worked on some of the biggest cricketing properties such as ICC, BCCI, and ACC events.
He began his career in 2014 as a Management Trainee at PepsiCo, later serving as Area Sales Manager – Power of One before transitioning into the sports media industry.
Venkataramana’s move comes at a time when YouTube is doubling down on strengthening its content ecosystem in India, a market that remains one of its fastest growing globally. His experience in sports, brand solutions, and content partnerships is expected to add significant value to the platform’s evolving strategy.
