In a striking prelude to Independence Day celebrations yesterday, Mumbai’s iconic Bandra Worli Sea Link turned into a dazzling canvas, projecting the larger-than-life poster of John Abrah am’s upcoming geo-political thriller ‘Tehran’ on the eve of the film’s ZEE5 premiere.
According to a press release from Zee, the projection offered a seamless blend of patriotic fervour and cinematic thrill. As the Sea Link glowed against the night sky, the visual display created a celebratory yet immersive experience, marking the perfect union of national pride and the high-octane energy of the espionage drama.
Abraham, who attended the event, described the moment as “a proud, unforgettable” one, adding that ‘Tehran’ has been “a phenomenal journey” for him.
Streaming exclusively on ZEE5, ‘Tehran’ unfolds against the backdrop of rising tensions between Israel and Iran, exploring how India becomes inadvertently caught in the geopolitical crossfire.
Directed by Arun Gopalan and produced by Maddock Films, the film stars Manushi Chhillar, Neeru Bajwa and Madhurima Tuli alongside Abraham. Packed with themes of loyalty, resilience, scale, action, and intrigue, it promises an edge-of-the-seat viewing experience, making it a fitting watch for the Independence Day weekend.
Speaking about the project, Abraham said, “Going by my film choices over the years, it’s obvious that I have an ongoing love affair with the country — a connection that finds its way into almost everything I do on screen. My fascination with geo-politics made this story an instant draw for me.
“Interacting with the brilliant minds at Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service was both inspiring and humbling. Watching the film’s poster light up the Bandra Worli Sea Link was a proud, unforgettable moment. I’m thankful to ZEE5 for giving ‘Tehran’ such a powerful platform.”
