This Independence Week, Amazon MX Player is set to premiere ‘Sena – Guardians of the Nation’, an original series that celebrates courage, sacrifice, and the emotional bonds forged in service to the country. The five-episode drama will stream for free from August 13 on Amazon’s ad-supported video platform.
Produced by The Viral Fever (TVF) and directed by Abhinav Anand, the show stars Vikram Singh Chauhan as Kartik Sharma, a young man who leaves behind a promising career in California to join the Indian Army, sparking conflict with his father. The cast also includes Yashpal Sharma, Shirley Setia, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Rahul Tewari, Vijay Vikram Singh, Anupam Bhattacharya and Neelu Dogra, alongside appearances from real-life army veterans and decorated officers.
Blending action and emotion, ‘Sena’ follows Kartik’s journey through the demanding Armed Forces Academy selection process, his posting in the tense terrain of Kashmir, and his capture by militants — a turning point that tests his survival skills and forces a reconciliation with his estranged father.
Amogh Dusad, Director & Head of Content at Amazon MX Player, called the series “a tribute to countless heroes who protect us every single day,” adding that its release ahead of Independence Day underscores its message about the true cost of freedom.
