Prime Video has announced the exclusive worldwide streaming premiere of ‘Kuberaa’, the intense crime thriller starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh.
Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, the film will stream globally starting July 18, available to Prime members in India and over 240 countries and territories. The film will be released in Tamil and Telugu, with dubbed versions in Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.
As per a press release, ‘Kuberaa’ is a gritty tale set against the chaotic underworld of Mumbai. It tracks the unexpected journey of Deva Kallam (played by Dhanush), a vagrant from Tirupati whose life takes a dark turn when he is unwittingly caught in a dangerous conspiracy. The plot thickens when corporate tycoon Neeraj Mithra (Jim Sarbh) discovers a hidden oil reserve and blackmails disgraced former CBI officer Deepak Tej (Nagarjuna Akkineni) into helping him seize control of it. Tej uses Deva as a pawn in the operation—but when Deva escapes, it sparks a relentless chase, turning the city into a battlefield.
At the heart of the film is Deva’s transformation—from a man trying to survive on the streets to someone fighting forces beyond his comprehension. Aiding him is Sameera (Rashmika Mandanna), a stranger with her own burdens, who becomes his only ally in a world that seems stacked against him.
With a riveting narrative packed with moral dilemmas, hidden agendas, and high-stakes drama, ‘Kuberaa’ explores the blurred lines between power, survival, and redemption. The film also marks another successful collaboration between director Sekhar Kammula and music composer Devi Sri Prasad, whose pulse-pounding score amplifies the tension of every scene.
The film, which had a successful theatrical run earlier this year, has already earned acclaim for its intense performances and sharp direction. Dhanush’s portrayal of Deva has been widely hailed as one of his most powerful performances, adding another layer of complexity to his already diverse filmography.
‘Kuberaa’ is the latest high-profile addition to Prime Video’s content catalogue. For Indian audiences, the film will be available as part of the Prime membership, which offers a host of benefits including entertainment, savings, and convenience—all for Rs.1499 per year.
With a blend of gripping storytelling, stellar performances, and a rich production scale, ‘Kuberaa’ promises to deliver an unforgettable cinematic experience, now accessible to audiences worldwide.
