The much-anticipated trailer of ‘Saiyaara’, directed by Mohit Suri, has finally been unveiled, offering audiences a glimpse into a layered love story brimming with music, heartbreak, and raw emotion. Backed by Yash Raj Films, the romantic drama marks the debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in lead roles.
According to an ANI report, ‘Saiyaara’ traces the journey of Krish Kapoor (played by Ahaan Panday), an aspiring singer, and a lyricist portrayed by Aneet Padda. The two creative souls are drawn together through music, but their relationship takes a dark and unexpected turn, culminating in a scene where Aneet’s character confronts Krish with a knife, asking him to walk away. The emotional fallout from this confrontation drives the rest of the narrative, as Krish navigates pain, betrayal, and eventual stardom.
A brief yet striking dialogue from actor Varun Badola in the trailer encapsulates the tension of the story: “Apne pyaar ke liye na khud ko khatam mat kar lena.” The trailer ends on a high note, showcasing Krish’s rise to fame with large-scale performances, suggesting a tale of love, loss, and redemption.
Following the trailer launch, social media erupted with positive reactions. Many praised the chemistry between the lead pair, with one user writing, “That’s how people should debut,” while another called it an “Unofficial Aashiqui 3 but ORIGINAL SAIYAARA.” The fresh casting has clearly struck a chord with viewers, who are keen to witness this new-age romance unfold on the big screen.
Director Mohit Suri shared that Saiyaara was born out of the serendipity of meeting Ahaan and Aneet through YRF. “I wouldn’t have made Saiyaara if I hadn’t found formidable actors like Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda,” Suri said in a statement. “I was honestly thinking about making something else before my path crossed with YRF, which was grooming Ahaan and Aneet for a young love story.”
He further added, “I saw their auditions, spent time with them, and was convinced of their emotional and intellectual depth. It’s a rarity today, and it’s refreshing to make a love story with newcomers. I’m glad I found these two because I’m making this story exactly the way it was meant to be told.”
Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films and producer of Saiyaara, echoed this sentiment: “We wanted to tell a real love story that connects with today’s youth and reflects the depth and truth of their emotions. With Saiyaara, we believe we’ve done just that.”
The film marks the launch of Ahaan Panday, cousin of actor Ananya Panday, and introduces audiences to Aneet Padda. ‘Saiyaara’ is set to hit theatres worldwide on July 18, 2025.
