Colors Kannada has revealed a refreshed brand identity that is both a tribute to Karnataka’s cultural legacy and a bold step into its future.
The new look, unveiled just after the channel’s 10th anniversary celebrations, weaves traditional symbolism with a contemporary visual language—underscoring its evolving journey while staying rooted in regional pride.
Tthe channel’s parent network, the visual overhaul pays homage to Karnataka’s mythology, art, and heritage through a thoughtfully designed blend of colour palettes, motifs, and on-air elements. “Colors Kannada has always belonged to the people of Karnataka and our new identity is an ode to that bond,” said a JioStar spokesperson. “As we step into a new decade, this reimagining reflects our pride in where we come from and our promise to stay rooted even as we evolve.”
This visual transformation is anchored in three iconic cultural emblems of Karnataka: the Gandabherunda, The Elephant, and Yakshagana. Each of these symbols is deeply embedded in the state’s cultural psyche and has been integrated into the brand’s identity to reflect strength, resilience, and artistic vibrancy.
The ‘Gandabherunda’, a mythical two-headed bird and royal insignia of the Mysore Kingdom, signifies balance, protection, and vision—attributes that mirror the channel’s enduring commitment to authentic storytelling. Meanwhile, the ‘Elephant’, often seen in Karnataka’s grand temple architecture and festivities like the famed ‘Jumbo Savari’ of Mysore Dasara, represents tradition, wisdom, and resilience. Yakshagana, the colourful and dramatic traditional theatre of coastal Karnataka, embodies the spirit of constant storytelling—a 24/7 celebration of art, music, and drama.
By incorporating these motifs, ‘Colors Kannada’ is not merely rebranding but deepening its resonance with viewers. The updated on-air packaging, colour schemes, and signature visual cues aim to strike a balance between timeless cultural symbolism and modern creative energy.
“This transformation is not just a design overhaul,” the spokesperson added. “It’s a celebration of identity—rooted in the rich heritage of Karnataka and built for the present and future. Each frame is crafted to echo the state’s mythology, art, and pride, making every viewing experience a visual homage to our roots.”
