Prime Video is stepping boldly into the unscripted entertainment space with the Indian adaptation of the internationally acclaimed reality show ‘The Traitors’, premiering exclusively on the platform on June 12. Hosted by the ever-charismatic Karan Johar, the thrilling series will release new episodes every Thursday at 8pm.
Adapted from the BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning format by IDTV and distributed globally by All3Media International, ‘The Traitors’ has rapidly become one of the world’s fastest-growing reality formats, with over 35 local versions across 30+ countries. For the Indian edition, Prime Video has partnered with BBC Studios India Productions, promising a show loaded with drama, deception, and intense psychological gameplay, all wrapped in high production values.
In an official press statement released on May 23, Prime Video revealed details of the high-octane reality series, highlighting its unique blend of suspense and strategy. The announcement was accompanied by a slick outdoor campaign and a teaser video featuring host Karan Johar, which stirred curiosity by offering glimpses of the celebrity cast and the explosive twists to come.
