Hari Ka Om

Critically acclaimed Indian film ‘Hari Ka Om’ is all set to make its European debut with a gala screening at the prestigious UK Asian Film Festival 2025. The film, starring Anshuman Jha, Soni Razdan, Raghubir Yadav, and Ayesha Kapur, will be showcased at London’s iconic Regent Street Cinema as part of the festival’s marquee lineup.

As reported by UNI, the film has already received widespread acclaim across major international circuits, with screenings in Australia, North America, Canada, and India. With its European premiere on the horizon, ‘Hari Ka Om’ continues its impressive festival journey ahead of its global theatrical release scheduled for July this year.

Directed by Hari Vyas, the film offers an intimate portrayal of the complexities and emotional nuances in a father-son relationship. Set in small-town India, it explores the generational divides that often lead to misunderstandings within families. Actor Anshuman Jha, who plays a middle-class boy from Bhopal, shared his thoughts on the story’s relevance: “Hari Ka Om is the father-son film we need today. It deals with issues which occur in nearly every home. It dwells on the fact that without emotional regulation – mistakes can be made by the young and the old. It’s a quintessential generational divide film and I look forward to being in the UK for the screening and the Q&A.”

Jha’s portrayal in the film adds yet another contrasting layer to his growing body of work, following his acclaimed roles in ‘Hum Bhi Akele’ (2021), where he played a homosexual man, and ‘Lakadbaggha’ (2023), a vigilante drama. In ‘Hari Ka Om’, his grounded performance underscores the emotional tension between youth and tradition, impulsiveness and introspection.

The UK Asian Film Festival has long been known for spotlighting bold and thought-provoking cinema from South Asia and its diaspora. The inclusion of ‘Hari Ka Om’ in its official selection adds to the anticipation surrounding the film’s wider release. With a compelling cast and a universally relatable narrative, the film is expected to leave a lasting impression on European audiences as it continues its global festival run.
