Veteran actor Boman Irani has officially come on board Anupam Kher’s upcoming directorial venture ‘Tanvi The Great’, where he will essay the role of an iconic musician named Raza Saab.
According to an ANI report, Irani’s character, Raza Saab, is set to be a pivotal presence in the musical drama that centres around a young girl’s journey through grief, art, and healing. The film, which Kher is directing after a long hiatus, has been described as a heart-touching tribute to the power of music and resilience.
The makers unveiled Boman Irani’s look from the film on social media, showcasing him in a poised and regal avatar, complete with a long sherwani and a calm, contemplative expression — a perfect embodiment of the maestro he portrays.
Sharing his enthusiasm, Irani said, “Anupam is a dear friend, and when he offered me the role of Raza Saab, I felt a deep connection with the character. This film speaks about the healing touch of music and the strength of human emotions. I’m thrilled to be part of such a soulful story.”
Kher, who is both directing and producing ‘Tanvi The Great’, called Irani’s presence “a gift to the narrative”, adding that Boman brings an unmatched sincerity and gravitas to the role. “Raza Saab is a character that demands dignity, depth and musicality. Who better than Boman to deliver that with finesse?” Kher shared.
The film stars child actor Khushboo Atre in the titular role of Tanvi and is said to revolve around her life after a personal tragedy, and how she finds strength in unexpected places
