In a significant development for Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL), Shiva Chinnasamy, the Chief Technology and Product Officer (CTPO) and a pivotal figure in the company’s technological evolution, has resigned, The Storyboard18 reported.
His departure comes less than four months after he took on additional responsibilities as Chief Business Officer for ZEE5, following Manish Kalra’s exit in December 2024.
Chinnasamy, who joined ZEEL in September 2024, was instrumental in spearheading innovation at ZEEL’s Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC) in Bengaluru. His initiatives focused on enhancing user experience through advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), contributing to the company’s digital transformation and growth strategy.
During his tenure, Chinnasamy played a critical role in strengthening the technological backbone of ZEE5, India’s leading homegrown streaming platform. His departure marks a second major exit for ZEEL within a month, raising questions about the company’s leadership stability amidst its aggressive push for global expansion.
Before joining ZEEL, Chinnasamy held leadership positions at global technology giants, including Rippling, Google, Amazon, Tesco, and Verizon Labs. His diverse expertise across these organisations equipped him with the skills to implement cutting-edge technologies, driving ZEEL’s vision of offering world-class digital content.
