This Diwali and Kali Puja season, TV9 Bangla is set to illuminate viewers’ screens with its special program series, ‘Praner Alo’ (The Light of Life), running from October 25 to 30, starting at 5 pm each evening. Designed to embody the theme of hope prevailing over darkness, ‘Praner Alo’ seeks to inspire audiences through knowledge and cultural devotion.
Amritanshu Bhattacharya, Managing Editor and Business Head of TV9 Bangla, expressed the program’s significance: “Goodness emerges over evil, and this Deepawali is set to bring a new light of hope.”
Praner Alo includes two standout programs: Banglar Shatipeeth and a tribute news series, Pannalal. Banglar Shatipeeth explores the legends of India’s 51 sacred Shaktipeethas, including the 18 Maha Shaktipeethas, known as ancient temples devoted to Goddess Sati. Each of the seven episodes will showcase the formation and spiritual importance of these revered pilgrimage sites, airing from October 25 to 30 at 5 pm.
On October 27 at 10 pm, Pannalal will commemorate singer Pannalal Bhattacharya, whose devout ‘Shyama Sangeet’ is central to Bengal’s Kali Puja celebrations. Known for his deeply devotional music dedicated to Goddess Kali, Pannalal’s work has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape. The tribute episode will be re-aired on October 31 at 10 pm, allowing audiences to relive his musical legacy.
