PVR INOX Limited has officially announced the launch of the Kareena Kapoor Film Festival, honoring the illustrious 25-year career of Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan.
The grand event took place on September 18, 2024, at LIDO cinema, attended by Kapoor and key executives from PVR INOX, including Kamal Gianchandani, Niharika Bijli, and Aamer Bijli.
Scheduled from September 20 to 26, 2024, the festival will feature a curated selection of Kareena’s most iconic films, including ‘Asoka’, ‘Chamel’i, ‘Jab We Met’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’, and ‘Omkara’. These films will be screened across 30 cinemas in 15 cities, providing audiences the chance to relive some of her most memorable performances on the big screen, the company said in a press release.
Kareena Kapoor expressed her gratitude, stating, “It is truly an honor to have my cinematic journey celebrated in this way. Revisiting these films brings back so many memories, and I am grateful to PVR INOX for creating this festival for my fans.”
The festival coincides with the release of Kareena’s latest film, ‘The Buckingham Murders’, a gripping thriller that has received significant acclaim.
Niharika Bijli, a key figure in conceptualizing the festival, highlighted the importance of celebrating Kapoor’s contributions to Indian cinema. “Her career has been inspiring and transformative, and we are thrilled to offer audiences the chance to revisit her iconic films through this unique event.”
