The teaser for Alia Bhatt’s much-anticipated film, ‘Jigra’, has been released, revealing a fresh and intense avatar of the actress. Filmmaker Karan Johar shared the teaser on his Instagram, hinting at a powerful story centered on resilience and determination.
The film is set to release on October 11, UNI reported.
In ‘Jigra’, Alia Bhatt portrays a character who faces deep family struggles and bravely confronts adversity. The teaser shows her in tears, recounting a painful childhood, with the classic song “Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka Sabka Kehna Hai…” playing in the background. The emotional scenes suggest themes of resilience, passion, and courage under challenging circumstances. Additionally, Alia is seen performing some action sequences, indicating a layered and dynamic role.
The film also stars Vedang Raina as Alia’s brother, with Manoj Pahwa playing a significant role. In the trailer, Pahwa’s character advises Alia’s character, “Bachchan nahi banna hai bach ke nikalna hai,” to which she boldly replies, “Ab toh, Bachchan hi banna hai.”
To prepare for the role, Alia took basketball classes. She trained under the guidance of a professional coach, hired by the film’s director Vasan Bala, to bring authenticity and grace to her performance.
‘Jigra’ is presented by Viacom18 Studios, Dharma Productions, and Eternal Sunshine Productions. The film is produced by Apoorva Mehta, Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, her sister Shaheen Bhatt and Somesh Mishra.
