Filmmaker Jason Reitman’s highly anticipated biopic about the iconic American sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live, has been officially titled ‘Saturday Night’.
The film will hit American theatres on October 11, 2024, marking exactly 49 years since the show first aired on NBC, PTI reported from Los Angeles.
Sony Pictures, the Hollywood studio behind the film, announced the title and release date, aligning the premiere with the anniversary of the show’s debut on October 11, 1975.
The screenplay, crafted by Reitman and Gil Kenan, draws from an extensive series of interviews with surviving cast members, writers, and crew. This in-depth exploration celebrates the rich history of the show, which is gearing up for its 50th season.
