South Asian American actress Shezray Husain has been cast in Bodhi Tree Multimedia’s latest crime thriller series, ‘Gunaah’, now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. The series, available to watch for free on mobile devices, releases new episodes every weekday, from Monday to Friday.
Shezray Husain, known for her versatility and compelling screen presence, will play Divya, the NRI sister of the lead character portrayed by actress Surbhi Jyoti. Divya’s character is central to the narrative, adding to the rich tapestry of the series’ ensemble cast. Husain relocated from the United States to India specifically to film Gunaah.
Husain’s career began in Chicago, where she participated in beauty pageants such as Miss Illinois USA before transitioning to acting. Her modeling career laid the groundwork for her success in the South Asian entertainment industry, where she earned acclaim for roles in series like Dhaani and the internationally renowned Khuda Aur Mohabbat. With ‘Gunaah’, she continues to captivate audiences with her dynamic performances.
“I am thrilled to be a part of Gunaah and work with such a talented team,” said Husain. “This role has been a fantastic opportunity for me to challenge myself and grow as an actress. Filming in India has been an incredible experience, and I am grateful for the warm welcome I’ve received from the cast and crew. Playing Divya has allowed me to explore new depths in my acting, and I hope the audience enjoys watching the show as much as we enjoyed making it. Being part of such a diverse and dynamic series is truly an honor, and I can’t wait for everyone to see what we have in store.”
Mautik Tolia, Managing Director of Bodhi Tree Multimedia, expressed his enthusiasm about Husain’s involvement in the series. “It’s great to have Shezray on board with us. We are impressed by her commitment to the show and are sure the viewers will like her character. She was the obvious choice for us as she fit the part of an NRI perfectly.”
‘Gunaah’ is directed by Anil Senior and produced by Sukesh Dev Motwani, Persis Singanporia, and Mautik Tolia, with Anirudh Pathak serving as the showrunner.
The series promises to deliver a gripping storyline, complemented by a stellar cast and high production values, solidifying its place as a must-watch for crime thriller enthusiasts.
