In an unprecedented move underscoring the significance of journalistic integrity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in an exclusive roundtable interview with five editors of the TV9 Network, offering commendations and congratulations to the network for its unwavering dedication to responsible reportage.
The ‘PM and 5 Editors Roundtable’ marked a historic occasion, bringing together the Prime Minister of the world’s largest democracy and editors from India’s largest network for an insightful dialogue lasting over an hour and thirty minutes, the news channel said in a press release.
Prime Minister Modi commended TV9 Network for its commitment to upholding journalistic standards, emphasizing its impartiality and dedication to its substantial viewership base. Notably, he lauded the network’s timeliness, accuracy, and impartiality in news reportage, irrespective of political affiliations.
During the roundtable discussion, Prime Minister Modi expressed appreciation for TV9 Network’s unbiased coverage, stating, “Your network has published many stories criticizing the BJP, and I take no issue with that. Because not once have I ever received a report that TV9 Network has engaged in activities that harm the country itself, or its reputation.”
Highlighting the network’s extensive reach across broadcast and digital platforms, Prime Minister Modi praised the timeliness of its reportage, acknowledging its significant contribution to informed public discourse. He further commended the recently launched News9 Mediaverse, a cutting-edge initiative encompassing News9 Plus, News9 Live, and News9Live.com, for its innovative approach to news delivery.
In concluding remarks, Prime Minister Modi underscored the indispensable role of media networks like TV9 Network in the nation’s democratic fabric, affirming, “Such media (networks) are essential for our country.”
This accolade from the Prime Minister follows his earlier commendation of TV9 Network’s diversity and dedication during the What India Thinks Today Global Summit in February 2024, further solidifying the network’s reputation as a beacon of journalistic excellence in India’s media landscape.
