WhatsApp, a platform owned by Meta, is rolling out a new feature that enables users to reply to status updates with avatars on both iOS and Android.
This innovative feature is designed to enhance engagement with status updates, providing users with an interactive way to interact with their contacts, a IANS report stated.
According to the report, users currently have access to a selection of eight avatars to choose from when responding to status updates, making the interaction more engaging and personal.
The feature is currently available to select beta testers who have installed the latest versions of WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS. Some beta testers also have the ability to respond to status updates using animated versions of the avatars, a feature that was not initially available during development, as confirmed by the report.
In addition to this update, WhatsApp has announced its intention to introduce a password-less passkey feature for all Android users. This feature aims to provide a more secure and hassle-free login process, eliminating the need for two-factor SMS authentication.
