Sonia Huria has been appointed as Amazon Prime Video‘s Head of Communications – APAC.
She joined the streaming platform in 2020 and previously worked as the Communications Head in India.
Huria announced her elevation via her LinkedIn handle. In a post, she said, “Three years ago, I stepped into the world of Amazon as Head – Communications, Prime Video India, and what a journey it’s been! Within a span of 3 years, I’m thrilled to take another leap forward as I take on the expanded role of heading Communication for the APAC region at Prime Video.
“Forward Momentum, that’s how I’ve lived my life, and despite some bumps and bruises along the way, it has always been onward and upward. At Amazon, we believe that it’s ‘Always Day One’ and it truly has been a new day, every single day, with not only new experiences, fresh challenges and learnings but also new heights and dimensions to my professional and personal journey,” Huria said.
Sonia brings to this role over twenty years of experience in the entertainment and consumer industries.
Before assuming her new position, she held the role of Head of Corporate Marketing, Communications, and Sustainability at Viacom18, where she had oversight of all five business segments.
Prior to her tenure at Viacom18, she served as a consulting associate at Genesis Burson-Marsteller and also gained valuable experience at Weber Shandwick.
