Users can now read and post comments on YouTube Music‘s “Now Playing” screen directly from the app thanks to a new comments section that has been added.
According to IANS, the redesign is currently rolling out to iOS and Android devices worldwide.
Existing comments from the official music video on YouTube are displayed in the new comments button.
The ability for users to type their own content also adds a more engaging social component to the app.
The comment button is located under the cover art. A panel slides up on the screen when a user clicks the button.
Previously hidden and only accessible when users tapped on the album cover, the like/dislike, save, share, download, and radio icons are now displayed next to the comments.
For music fans worldwide, YouTube Music released a helpful live lyrics feature late last month on Android and iOS.
Now Playing’s current Lyrics tab receives an upgrade with a new look and larger text that has much better spacing. When the song skips to the next line, the page will update and move.
Additionally, YouTube, which is owned by Google, announced that it is testing a new feature on Android that will allow users to search for a song on the platform by humming.
Users in the experiment can toggle from YouTube voice search to the new song search feature, and hum or record the song they are searching for over three seconds in order for the song to be identified.
