Rajinikanth‘s ‘Jailer’ has surpassed two box office records on its way to grossing Rs 500 crore.
In a post on the social media platform X, trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan stated that ‘Jailer’ had earned Rs 500 crore on the 10th day of its release, making it the third film from Kollywood to do so after ‘2.0’ and ‘Ponniyin Selvan’.
After ‘2.0,’ ‘Jailer’ is the second fastest film in Kollywood to enter this club.
Manobala Vijayabalan stated in another post on X that ‘Jailer’ has set a new record by becoming the third film from Kollywood to cross the $20 million mark at the overseas box office, following ‘2.0’ and ‘Ponniyin Selvan.’
Commenting on the magic of ‘Jailer‘ at the box office, another trade expert Ramesh Bala said: “Rajinikanth is a Superstar. The ‘Superstar’ tag alone is enough to garner it all the attention it needs. And then, he also benefits from worldwide recognition.”
Rajinikanth’s persona in the movie is that of an old jailer hunting down a notorious gang lord and mercilessly eliminating his gang members, Economic Times reported.
