Streaming service Apple TV+ has given audiences a tantalizing glimpse into its forthcoming series, a thrilling addition to Hollywood studio Legendary’s iconic Monsterverse titled ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’.
The show is set to continue the gripping narrative introduced in Legendary-backed blockbusters such as ‘Godzilla,’ ‘Kong: Skull Island,’ ‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ and ‘Godzilla vs. Kong.’ , according to a PTI report from Los Angeles.
The much-anticipated 10-episode series boasts a remarkable ensemble cast that includes the legendary Kurt Russell, joined by his talented actor-son Wyatt Russell.
The lineup also features Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski, promising a dynamic and engaging on-screen experience.
‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ picks up after the cataclysmic events of 2014’s ‘Godzilla’where the monumental clash between Godzilla and the Titans left San Francisco in ruins.
Spanning across three generations, the series revolves around two siblings who embark on a quest to unearth their family’s deep-rooted ties to the enigmatic organization known as Monarch. This kaiju-tracking group has played a central role in Legendary’s Monsterverse films.
As the siblings follow the trail of cryptic clues, they are drawn into the captivating realm of monsters, ultimately leading them to Army officer Lee Shaw, portrayed by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell.
The story is intriguingly divided between the 1950s and a half-century later, where Monarch’s existence is threatened by the knowledge Shaw holds.
Co-developed by Chris Black and Matt Fraction, ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ promises to deliver gripping storytelling and exhilarating monster encounters.
The series’ initial two episodes have been helmed by the accomplished director Matt Shakman, known for his work on the acclaimed series ‘WandaVision.’
The series is poised to make its debut on Apple TV+ later this year.
