On the occasion of Sanjay Dutt‘s 64th birthday on July 29, director Lokesh Kanagaraj surprised fans by unveiling a special promo clip from his highly anticipated movie ‘Leo.’
The film, which stars the Bollywood star alongside Vijay, has generated considerable buzz among cinema enthusiasts.
The newly released promo clip showcases glimpses of Dutt’s character, who appears in the film as a formidable gangster named Antony Das.
The actor’s portrayal exudes an aura of menace and intensity, adding to the excitement surrounding the project, PTI reported.
The promo opens with an intriguing sculpture of an eagle, prompting fans to speculate if there’s a connection to Lokesh Kanagaraj’s earlier blockbuster ‘Vikram’.
Notably, the colour scheme and tone of the footage bear similarities to the director’s previous successful films ‘Vikram’ and ‘Kaithi,’ leading some to believe that the movies are part of a larger narrative, being referred to as Lokesh’s Cinematic Universe.
Moreover, there are rumours circulating that ‘Leo’ might draw inspiration from David Cronenberg’s acclaimed work ‘A History of Violence’, which delves into the life of a former gangster living under an assumed identity. When a violent incident brings him into the spotlight on national television, his elder brother seeks revenge, making for a gripping storyline.
Apart from Dutt and Vijay, ‘Leo’ boasts an ensemble cast featuring actors like Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Anurag Kashyap, Trisha, Priya Anand and Sandy, promising a power-packed performance from the ensemble. The film’s music, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, adds to the anticipation among music enthusiasts.
