The streamer announced on Friday that Anthony Mackie’s upcoming series ‘Twisted Metal’ will premiere on Sony LIV on July 28.
According to a press release, the show is based on Michael Jonathan Smith’s popular PlayStation game series of the same name.
The show is described as a high-octane action comedy based on an original concept created by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, writers best known for their work on the ‘Deadpool’ franchise.
According to PTI, Mackie plays John Doe, a motormouthed outsider who is offered a chance at a better life if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
He’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown driving an all-too-familiar ice cream truck, with the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief.
The cast of ‘Twisted Metal’ also includes Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Will Arnett, Richard Cabral, and Samoa Joe.
