According to Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, professional social networking platform LinkedIn now has 100 million members in India, a 19 percent increase year on year.
LinkedIn, which is owned by Microsoft, saw record engagement in the March quarter, as more than 930 million members worldwide now use the professional social network to connect, learn, sell, and get hired.
“Member growth accelerated for the seventh quarter in a row as we reached out to new audiences.” “We now have 100 million members in India, a 19% increase,” Nadella said late Tuesday during the company’s Q3 2023 earnings call.
“We saw a 73% year-over-year increase in the number of student sign-ups as Gen Z enters the workforce,” Nadella added.
LinkedIn Talent Solutions continues to assist hirers in connecting with job seekers and professionals in order to develop the skills required to access opportunities, IANS reported from New Delhi.
“For the third consecutive quarter, our hiring business increased its market share. “The excitement surrounding AI is creating new opportunities across every function, from marketing, sales, and finance to software development and security,” Nadella said.
LinkedIn revenue increased by 8 percent in the March quarter for the tech behemoth. Microsoft paid more than $26 billion for LinkedIn in 2016.
New AI-powered features on the platform include writing suggestions for member profiles and job descriptions, as well as collaborative articles.
“Our exclusive partnership with Netflix brings differentiated premium video content to our ad network, and our new Copilot for the web is reshaping daily search and web habits,” explained Nadella.
