Zoom has announced a partnership with OpenAI, the creator of the AI chatbot ChatGPT, to bring AI-driven features to the platform, including summarizing chat threads, organizing ideas, drafting content for chats, creating meeting agendas, and more, via its AI-powered assistant Zoom IQ.
Zoom is the latest productivity software to increase its usage of AI.
According to IANS, Zoom IQ’s features will help users go through their day more effortlessly. For example, if a team member arrives late for a Zoom meeting, they may ask Zoom IQ to “summarise” what they’ve missed in real time and ask more questions.
Furthermore, if users need to create a whiteboard session for their meeting, Zoom IQ can do so using text prompts.
You had to go out for a minute during a meeting, and when you returned, you had a big list of emails to catch up on.
“By providing a summary of the thread, Zoom IQ assists you in getting the gist.” Once you’ve gotten the hang of it, Zoom IQ chat compose makes it simple to assist you to find the proper words by creating a response for you, even rephrasing responses if necessary.
Zoom noted in a blog post, “We plan to begin rolling out the following features to select customers by invitation in April: Zoom IQ chat compose, Zoom IQ email compose (initially available for Zoom IQ for Sales), and select Zoom IQ meeting summary features will be available more broadly.”
The company has also launched ‘Zoom Mai’ and ‘Calendar’, which will allow customers to view all of their critical communications in a single location – no more hopping between their email and Zoom Team Chat.
Furthermore, Zoom has created ‘Huddles’, a new video-enabled virtual coworking area, to bring the fluid interactions of in-person collaboration to modern teams.
