Uzair Qadeer comes to the BBC from Carbon Health, a US healthcare provider where he was Chief People Officer.
Uzair Qadeer will serve on the BBC Executive Committee, the Operations Committee, and the Board Remuneration Committee as a key advisor.
He will report to Leigh Tavaziva, the BBC Group’s Chief Operating Officer, and will be responsible for overseeing global human resources capabilities across the BBC Group as well as driving the BBC’s employee experience, cultural transformation, and organizational change.
He will be responsible for shaping the organization’s people strategy and fostering an inclusive BBC in line with its ten-point Diversity and Inclusion plan.
Uzair Qadeer will also be in charge of Children in Need, the BBC’s independently run and governed charity.
The Executive Committee is in charge of delivering the BBC’s services by the Board’s strategy, as well as all aspects of operational management.
Uzair held several senior executive positions before joining the BBC.
He was previously Chief People Officer at Carbon Health, where he established and oversaw a world-class human resources function to guide the company through a period of rapid transformation.
