India’s Budget 2023 was unveiled to the country by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1 and latest data shows India TV emerged as the top Hindi news channel that day among the nine TV channels that refrain from using landing page strategies to boost viewership numbers.
Quoting BARC India viewership data released February 9, India TV said in a media statement it had 9043 gross AMA 000s and secured the number one position.
India TV was followed by Aaj Tak with 9013 gross AMA 000s and TV9 Bharatvarsh with 8974 gross AMA 000s, as per Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC India) data of February 1 where the target audience comprised people 15 years and older in Hindi-speaking markets with competitors being nine non-landing Hindi news channels (channels that are not available on landing pages in more than 50 head-ends).

The Rajat and Ritu Sharma-founded Hindi news channel said as it was the need of the hour to make the Union Budget 2023 accessible and understandable to the general viewers, India TV hosted the ‘Samvad Budget Conclave 2023’ on February 3 in New Delhi.
The conclave brought together prominent leaders from both the ruling BJP government and the opposition parties to discuss and analyse the Budget. The event was attended by top-level political leaders, including Sitharaman, who provided a detailed explanation of the Budget and addressed criticisms from the opposition parties.
Other significant cabinet ministers who also participated in the conclave included Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal; Railway and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, who discussed their respective ministries and the Budget in general.
