Bharti Airtel announced the launch of its 5G services in Pune on Friday.
Airtel 5G services are now available in Koregaon Park, Kalyani Nagar, Baner, Hinjewadi, Magarpatta, Hadapsar, Kharadi, Model Colony, Swargate, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and a few other locations, the telco said.
Airtel stated that it will expand its network and make its services available throughout the city in due course.
“Airtel customers can now experience ultrafast network and enjoy speeds up to 20-30 times faster than the current 4G speeds. “We are in the process of lighting up the entire city, which will allow customers to enjoy superfast access to high-definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, instant photo uploading, and more,” said George Mathen, CEO of Bharti Airtel in Maharashtra and Goa.
Airtel 5G Plus services will be made available to customers in stages as the company builds its network and completes the rollout, IANS reported from New Delhi.
According to the company, it will provide massive speeds, the best voice experience, work on all 5G smartphones, and be more environmentally friendly.
Airtel launched its 5G services in Shimla earlier this week. The telco’s 5G services are now available in Delhi, Mumbai, Gurugram, Guwahati, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Patna, Siliguri, Nagpur, and Varanasi, among other cities.
There will be no need to change the SIM card because the existing Airtel 4G SIM card supports 5G.
