Google is introducing a new ‘Follow’ feature in Slides that allows users to collaborate in real-time with their colleagues.
According to the tech giant’s Workspace Updates blogpost, the ‘Follow’ feature expands on an existing feature that only allows users to see what slide their colleague is on.
Users can jump to the slide they are on in the Slides toolbar by clicking on a collaborator’s avatar, and they can follow them as they move around and edit a presentation.
It has no admin control and is enabled by default, IANS reported from San Francisco.
“Click a collaborator’s avatar in the Slides toolbar to follow them. A ‘Following’ badge will appear when you hover over a followed avatar. To unfollow a collaborator, simply click on their avatar again “Google stated.
If “the collaborator refreshes or leaves the presentation,” “you make any changes to the presentation,” “you click a different slide,” or “you enter Slideshow mode,” you will automatically stop following the collaborator.
Earlier this year, Google announced the ability to join or present to a Google Meet call directly from Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
