American tech giant Google head of business development, google play apps- India, South East Asia & Australia, Shalini Poddar has resigned from her post and joined Disney + Hotstar as executive vice president & head of ad sales.
Poddar replaced Gulshan Verma who had quit the streaming service in July to join Jio Ads as chief executive officer.
The news was shared by Shalini on her LinkedIn profile, where she shared the position of EVP – Head of Ad Sales, Disney+ Hotstar.
Shalini has 17+ years of collective experience in consulting, strategy, business development, sales, partnerships and marketing across industry verticals. She has strong business acumen, solid sales and leadership experience running ads businesses of tremendous scale – XX’000 partners, $XXX millions and XX billion users, with deep experience across both large customers (LCS) and SMB, as well as shaping and delivering transformational partnerships and product interventions.
She had joined the tech giant in July 2013 as industry manager of telecom, gaming and payments, and later in April 2016 her role was changed to India lead, mobile app ads business, and in March 2019 she will be the head of business development, Google Play, India.
Before joining Google, Shalini was the engagement manager of Accenture management consulting for seven years, and associate vice president, client relations in Kotak Mahindra Bank.
She is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta.
