Times Network, part of one of India’s biggest media houses the Times of India group, on Wednesday announced that Times Now Navbharat SD channel is slated to launch on January 1, 2022.
The announcement was made during the second edition of Times Now Summit which was graced by Union Home Minister Amit Shaḥ, the company said.
Shah inaugurates the Times Now Summit 2021 which has been organized on the theme of – ‘Celebrating India@75. Shaping India@100.’ He launches the event by lighting the traditional lamp.
At the launch of Times Now Navbharat SD, Amit Shah said, “It’s a new beginning. So, congratulations to the entire Times Group. Times Group has a glorious history in journalism. I wish them all the best and hope it will achieve greater heights.”
Shah was welcomed by Navika Kumar, Group Editor, Times Network and Editor-in-Chief, Times Now Navbharat.
Earlier, MK Anand, MD and CEO, Times Network, highlighted the group’s journey in launching the Hindi news channel and said that the next 25 years will provide India with tantalizing opportunities.
He reiterated the group’s commitment towards nation-building and developing a comprehensive action plan for India’s future.
“We now find ourselves at the cusp of transformative change. Political, geopolitical, economic and social dynamics are shifting fast. Our burgeoning and impatient population is now on the verge of realising aspirations. The last two years have been a kind of forced pause that helped us rethink, review options and reset our game plan,” MK Anand, said.
The two-day event will witness participation from eminent personalities from various sectors such as politics, governance, technology, business, films and more.
Earlier, Times Network has launched its first Hindi news channel ‘Times Now Navbharat HD’ on August 1.
