India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) cancelled the registration of MSO Scod18 Networks, which operated a network in a suburban area of Mumbai, as the company failed to provide necessary documents.
The Mumbai MSO’s case was closed on October 1 , 2021, data provided by the government highlighted.
Scod18 Network was among the few MSOs whose registrations were cancelled by the MIB due to various reasons, including incomplete documentation, in the month of September 2021 and first week of October.
New Delhi’s Hare Krishna Cable Network had its registration nullified on September 23 as the processing fee of Rs. 100,000 was paid by a third party.
Meanwhile, MIB data showed that as of October 2021, there were 1,743 registered MSOs in the country, who were entitled to provide services anywhere in India, unless specifically indicated.
The government data also indicated that about 11 MSOs were granted permission in September 2021.
South Indian State Karnataka-based Janani Cable Network was the last one to be granted licence last month on September 29, 2021.
