Global streaming giant Netflix and UNESCO have come together to launch a campaign to highlight Indian culture and heritage with the OTT platform’s pre-school animated series Mighty Little Bheem.
The campaign titled, “One Country, Incredible Diversity” will start with a discussion on spotlighting “India’s Cultural Heritage On a Global Digital Stage” on August 13, two days ahead of India’s 75thIndependence Day.
The country has lined up grand celebrations to showcase the 75thyear, including those abroad.
In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence Day, a leading Indian diaspora organisation in the US will hoist the biggest tricolour unfurled at the iconic Times Square in New York on August 15, a PTI report from New York stated.
Federation of Indian Associations – New York, New Jersey and Connecticut will host day-long celebrations on August 15, starting with the unfurling of the tricolour at Times Square.
Meanwhile coming back to the Netflix-UNESCO partnership, the joint campaign will showcase an exciting fireside chat between Rajiv Chilaka, Founder and Managing Director at Green Gold Animation Pvt. Ltd. and Monika Shergill, Vice President, Content, Netflix India.
The two would discuss the power of media and entertainment in helping India’s rich culture travel around the world. Through the conversation examples of programmes or series like Mighty Little Bheem —fully animated and produced in India beautifully capturing Indian culture for audiences in India and globally — would be highlighted.
The fireside chat will take place virtually on 13th August, 2021 from 1100-12 PM IST. At the event we will also be inaugurating Netflix and UNESCO’s campaign to highlight Indian culture and heritage globally with our pres-school animated series, Mighty Little Bheem in a campaign titled, “One Country, Incredible Diversity”.
Other speakers during the virtual show, which will be streamed live on USESCO’s Facebook page on Aug 13 at 11 am, will feature senior officials of the UN body and Netflix, apart from Shergill.
