YouTube has added six new games to its Playables collection, bringing interactive activities based on music, science, maths and mindfulness to the platform.
The games have been developed in partnership with organisations and educational creators, including Black Girls Code, The Jed Foundation, Khan Academy, Math with Mr. J, TED-Ed and Veritasium.
According to a YouTube blog, the new games aim to turn complex ideas into short, interactive experiences.
The new lineup includes ‘SuperNova’ by Black Girls Code, where players help a musician find new bandmates, play beats and unlock choruses. ‘Reset Mode’ by Jed Foundation offers guided breathing and mindfulness exercises.
‘Newton’s Glider’ by Khan Academy features physics puzzles that help players explore forces and inertia. ‘Lure of the Labyrinth: Vending Machine’, presented by Math with Mr. J, challenges players to work out coin values to help a character buy a snack.
The lineup also includes ‘BackTrack Pro’ by TED-Ed, which introduces aspiring musicians to creating chord progressions for songs and ‘Elements of Truth’ by Veritasium, a trivia game that tests scientific reasoning through confidence-based scoring.
With these additions, YouTube is expanding Playables with more interactive experiences that combine gaming with music, science, maths and mindfulness.
