KRAFTON India has renamed its upcoming mobile game BGMI Lite to BGMI Air, as pre-registrations for the game cross 10 million ahead of its India launch later this year.

Designed to make the core BGMI experience accessible to a wider player base, BGMI Air will offer a lighter gaming experience irrespective of device storage specifications, a KRAFTON India press release yesterday stated.

The game will have an initial download size of around 1GB while retaining the core gameplay elements of BGMI.

KRAFTON India said an open beta for BGMI Air will be introduced shortly to gather player feedback and further refine the game.

Pre-registrations for the game opened for Android users in India on Google Play on August 25, 2026. Existing BGMI players will not need to transfer their accounts to play BGMI Air, which will be accessible as a separate game.

The company said further updates and details about BGMI Air will be shared through its official Instagram page and other channels ahead of launch.
