Indian athletes will be in action across cricket, hockey, volleyball, squash, archery, wrestling, judo, rugby and sepak takraw on October 1, with several key matches and medal events lined up across the Asian Games schedule.
The day features multiple India-Pakistan encounters, including the men’s volleyball quarter-final and men’s hockey semi-final. India will also face Sri Lanka in the men’s cricket semi-final, while the Indian squash teams will compete in the semi-final stage.
The men’s cricket semi-finals will see Pakistan take on Bangladesh from 5.30 am to 8.30 am, followed by India’s semi-final against Sri Lanka from 10.00 am to 1.30 pm. Both matches will be available on Sony Sports Ten 1 and Sony LIV, with the India-Sri Lanka game also listed on Sony Sports Ten 2, 3 and 4.
India’s men’s volleyball team is scheduled to face Pakistan in the quarter-final from 6.30 am to 8.30 am on Sony Sports Ten 3 and Sony Sports Ten 4. The men’s hockey semi-final between India and Pakistan is scheduled for 1.00 pm to 2.30 pm and will also be available on Sony Sports Ten 3, 4 and 5.
Squash will also see Indian representation in the semi-final stage. The women’s team is scheduled to face Hong Kong China from 7.00 am to 9.00 am, while the men’s team will take on Malaysia from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm. The women’s squash schedule also includes a Malaysia vs Japan semi-final from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm on Sony Sports Ten 2.
Archery will be another key focus, with the women’s compound individual events beginning early in the morning. Chikitha Taniparthi is scheduled to face Indonesia’s Nurisa Ashrifah in the women’s compound individual quarter-final at 5.30 am. The semi-final is scheduled from 6.38 am onwards, subject to qualification, followed by the individual final from 7.31 am onwards.
In the men’s compound individual event, Ganesh Thirumuru is scheduled to face Chinese Taipei’s Chieh-Lun Chen in the quarter-final at 9.47 am. The semi-finals and finals are scheduled from 10.38 am onwards, subject to qualification. The archery events will be broadcast on Sony Sports Ten 5 and Sony LIV.
Wrestling will feature women’s freestyle and men’s Greco-Roman finals across the morning and afternoon broadcast windows. The events are listed from 7.00 am to 10.30 am and again from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm across multiple Sony Sports Ten channels.
Judo will also have a packed schedule, with men’s and women’s semi-finals and finals listed from 7.30 am to 10.30 am and again from 1.30 pm to 4.00 pm, subject to qualification.
India will also compete in rugby sevens and sepak takraw. The women’s rugby sevens team is scheduled to face Hong Kong at 8.50 am and China at 3.30 pm in Pool E. In men’s sepak takraw, India is scheduled to face Vietnam in the Men’s Quadrant Group A from 5.30 am to 7.30 am.
The shooting schedule includes the men’s 25m rapid pistol individual final from 11.55 am to 1.20 pm, featuring Anish, subject to qualification.
All the listed events will be available across Sony Sports Ten 1 to Sony Sports Ten 5 and Sony LIV, with individual events and matches spread across the different channels throughout October 1.
