Tamil film ‘Jananayagan’ has crossed 1 crore viewers on ZEE5, according to Ormax Media. The film has become the first Tamil film of 2026 to cross the 1 crore-viewer mark on OTT in India.
According to a ZEE5 press release today, ‘Jananayagan’ was released in theatres on July 24, 2026, and premiered digitally on Tamil ZEE5 on August 21. Since its arrival on the platform, the film has continued to attract viewers.
The film marks the final film of Vijay and has been described as a significant title in the Tamil entertainment industry. Directed by H Vinoth, ‘Jananayagan’ explores themes of courage, leadership and social responsibility. The film also features emotional moments, dance sequences and social messaging.
Speaking about the milestone, Lloyd C. Xavier, Business Head, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, ZEE5, said the platform acquired the film because of its significance as an important entertainment property and its cultural and emotional value. He added that the continued audience response on Tamil ZEE5 reflects the lasting impact of the film.
‘Jananayagan’ has continued to attract audiences on ZEE5 following its theatrical run, giving viewers an opportunity to watch Vijay’s final cinematic outing on the streaming platform.
