Star Plus is set to premiere its new fiction show ‘Sayoneee’ tonight, September 23, at 7.30 pm on Star Plus and JioHotstar. Starring Rashami Desai, Janhavi Soni and Gautam Singh Vig, the show follows Saanvi, a young woman searching for the mother’s love she has always longed for, while finding the strength to face her own battles.

Produced by Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey’s Dreamiyata Entertainment, ‘Sayoneee’ brings together Rashami Desai as Maya, Janhavi Soni as Saanvi and Gautam Singh Vig as Aditya. According to a press release, the show explores a relationship built around trust, equality and the idea of having an ally who stands beside you without taking away your voice or making decisions on your behalf.

Rashami Desai returns to television fiction with the role of Maya, described as a powerful and guarded character. Speaking about her return and the launch of the show, Desai said she had received several offers but chose not to take them up because she did not feel connected to the stories or characters. “I wasn’t looking for a comeback on television; I was looking for a purpose,” she said, adding that she wanted to wait for a character that felt right rather than make an impulsive decision.

Janhavi Soni, who plays Saanvi, described her character as warm and nurturing but said her kindness should not be mistaken for weakness. Saanvi has the courage to stand up for what she believes is right and remains committed to her promises even when they come at a personal cost. Soni also spoke about her experience working with Rashami Desai, calling her a warm and generous co-actor and saying that she had found a wonderful friend through the show.

Gautam Singh Vig plays Aditya, who is positioned not as Saanvi’s traditional hero but as her “Sayoneee” — someone who stands beside her as she fights her own battles. Explaining his character, Vig said, “A hero tries to fight your battles for you, while a Sayoneee simply stands by you as you win them yourself.” He added that Aditya respects Saanvi’s choices and gives her the space to find her own answers, with his relationship with her rooted in trust, equality and security.

The show’s central idea revolves around Saanvi’s journey to find her mother’s love while discovering her own strength and voice. With Maya, Saanvi and Aditya at the heart of the story, ‘Sayoneee’ aims to present relationships through the lens of support, independence and equality rather than a conventional hero-led love story.
