Vzy has launched linear TV streaming (LTS), bringing live television, OTT platforms and free content together on a single app. The platform currently offers more than 200 live TV channels along with access to over 29 OTT platforms and free entertainment content.
According to a press release, the launch comes as Indian consumers increasingly move between different formats depending on what they want to watch, when they want to watch and who they are watching with. Vzy’s proposition brings live television, on-demand streaming and free content together, with users able to move between them through a single login and a unified experience.
The LTS offering includes more than 200 live TV channels from leading broadcast networks, including JioStar, Sony Pictures Networks India, Warner Bros Discovery India and Zee Entertainment, covering national and regional programming across languages and genres. The live TV service sits alongside Vzy’s existing portfolio of 29+ OTT platforms and free content, positioning the app as a single digital destination for different forms of entertainment.
Vzy said its proposition is built around the idea that the future of entertainment is not TV versus OTT, but TV, OTT and free content brought together around the way people actually watch. Its linear TV experience includes familiar television features such as an electronic programme guide, channel numbers and TV-like navigation, while the OTT environment follows an on-demand viewing experience. The Vzy app can also function as a remote-style control surface for connected-TV users.
The company said the service is designed around the different ways households consume entertainment, with the large screen continuing to serve as a shared family screen while mobile remains more personal. A household member may want live news, another may prefer an OTT series, while someone else may want to watch a television serial, with Vzy aiming to provide access without requiring users to think about which platform or content pipe owns the content.
Kevin Vaz, CEO, Entertainment, JioStar, said Indian households are increasingly embracing connected TV while continuing to have a strong appetite for broadcast programming. He said audiences now want fewer barriers and the freedom to move between screens based on their preferences. Vaz added that Vzy would help expand the footprint of JioStar’s content while bringing together the scale and familiarity of linear TV with the convenience of streaming.

Gaurav Banerjee, Managing Director and CEO, Sony Pictures Networks India, said Indian audiences increasingly move between linear television and streaming depending on content, screen and viewing occasion. He said Vzy’s integrated proposition brings greater choice and convenience to connected-TV viewing while allowing television content to reach audiences in new ways.

Varun Jha, CBO, Vzy, said the platform is being built around changing consumer behaviour, with viewers increasingly thinking in terms of what they want to watch rather than individual content platforms. He said Vzy aims to provide relevant and contextual entertainment across large and small screens and address the fragmented entertainment experience at the household level.

Manoj Dobhal, CEO & Executive Director, Dish TV India Ltd, said entertainment has evolved beyond a single screen or format and that the launch of linear TV streaming brings Vzy closer to its vision of creating a unified entertainment destination for Indian households. He said the combination of live TV, OTT and free content offers consumers a simpler and more flexible way to access entertainment.

Vzy’s linear TV plans start at Rs.179 for more than 200 live TV channels, while its OTT offering starts at Rs.199 for access to over 29 OTT platforms. The company also plans to introduce combined live TV and OTT propositions.
With the addition of live television, Vzy is expanding beyond OTT aggregation towards a broader, content-agnostic entertainment platform. By bringing together live TV, OTT, free content and discovery in one experience, the company aims to reduce the fragmentation consumers face across multiple services, screens and content ecosystems.
