Dish TV is looking to improve its business with new initiatives including its VZY smart TV business, ShopZop e-commerce platform and Watcho content aggregation platform.
According to an Economic Times report yesterday, Dish TV is trying to recover from a decline in its DTH business as more consumers are shifting towards OTT platforms, free-to-air services and connected TVs.
The company reported a 25.84 percent year-on-year decline in revenue to Rs 1,162.61 crore in FY26. It also reported negative EBITDA during the year as the traditional DTH business faces growing competition from other entertainment options.
Dish TV entered the smart TV market in September 2025 with its VZY range. The TVs combine DTH and OTT services. According to the report, VZY TV has crossed the Rs 100 crore milestone, while the company is also seeing growth in its Watcho app and website.
Dish TV is also focusing on ShopZop, its business-to-consumer e-commerce platform, and Content India, a content marketplace launched with C21 Media. The company expects these businesses to generate revenue through commissions, content partnerships and sponsorships.
Dish TV CEO and Executive Director Manoj Dobhal said the company is working to reposition its business as consumers move from traditional set-top boxes towards smart screens. The company is also expanding original and regional content on Watcho and adding more OTT services to its hybrid packages.
