Prime Video has released the trailer of its upcoming original film ‘Don’t Be Shy’. The young adult romantic comedy will premiere on the streaming platform on September 25.

Written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji, the film is about friendship, first love, heartbreak and the confusing experiences of young adulthood. It is produced by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt under Eternal Sunshine Productions.

According to a Prime Video press release, the film stars newcomers Aarushi Bajaj, Piyush Khati, Bianca Arora and Ansh Duggal in the lead roles. Kunaal Roy Kapur, Anurag Basu, Neha Dhupia and Anju Alva Naik also feature in important roles.

The story follows Shyamili ‘Shy’ Das, played by Aarushi Bajaj. Shy is an independent young woman whose carefully planned life changes unexpectedly. She finds herself caught between her feelings for Mayank, played by Piyush Khati, and her estranged childhood friend Dhruv, played by Duggal.

Things become more complicated when Tara, played by Arora, arrives at Shy’s college and becomes part of her life. What starts as Shy’s attempt to get her life back on track soon turns into a series of unexpected situations, new friendships and chaos.

Talking about the film, writer and director Mukerji said that ‘Don’t Be Shy’ is inspired by the kind of films she watched while growing up. She described the movie as a story about the stage of life when young people are moving towards adulthood but are still figuring themselves out.

‘Don’t Be Shy’ will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in Hindi with English subtitles on September 25.
