Bhuvan Bam has shared a funny but scary experience he had while learning horse riding for Prime Video’s upcoming period drama ‘The Revolutionaries’.
According to a Prime Video press release today,Bhuvan plays revolutionary Rash Behari Bose in the series. While preparing for the role, he was asked to learn horse riding. He was taken to Juhu Beach for training on a horse used for wedding functions. However, his first lesson turned into a frightening experience when the horse suddenly ran away with him.
Recalling the incident, Bhuvan said the horse’s caretaker was on the phone when the horse ran off. He said he was literally hanging from the horse and was shivering for the next three days. He later told director Nikkhil Advani that the horse had taken him away without his permission after its leg got stuck in some plastic.
After the incident, Bhuvan was nervous about riding a horse again. He said that every day during the shoot, he thought about telling Nikkhil that he could not ride a horse. Eventually, after a scene went well, he found the courage to ask the director not to make him ride one.
The team later had to film an action sequence involving Rash Behari Bose and General Dyer, played by Jason Shah. Bhuvan suggested that he and Jason switch the horse and bike, as Jason was an experienced horse rider.
Jason rode the horse while Bhuvan used the bike. Bhuvan said Jason was such a good horse rider that the horse sometimes even overtook the bike. He added that the sequence was completed very quickly.
‘The Revolutionaries’ is inspired by true events and is set during India’s freedom struggle. The series is created and directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under Emmay Entertainment.
