Netflix has started filming ‘Dolly’, a new six-part German series from the creators of the popular show ‘Kleo’.

According to a Netflix press release, the series is being created by Hanno Hackfort, Richard Kropf and Bob Konrad, who were also behind ‘Kleo’.

The show is being produced by BetaBerlin Productions in cooperation with Candy Shop. 

Set in Berlin in 1899, ‘Dolly’ follows Dolly Pinkus, a young woman who escapes a serial killer. When the authorities fail to act, she decides to investigate the case herself.

Dolly joins forces with her best friend Mieze and a young police inspector, Carl. Together, they begin searching for the killer and uncover a dangerous case. 

The series is directed by Isabel Braak and Mia Spengler. The cast includes Derya Akyol, Samirah Breuer, Sean Douglas, Max Hubacher, Merlin Rose and Bela Kampschulte.

Filming began in Gorlitz, where the historic city centre was used to recreate Berlin in the late 19th century. Production has now moved to the 

Berlin-Brandenburg region.
