Prime Video has announced that the third season of ‘Maxton Hall- The World Between Us’ will be the final chapter of the hit international Original, with all six episodes set to premiere globally on December.
The season will conclude the story of Ruby Bell and James Beaufort, with Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung returning in the lead roles, a prime Video statement said yesterday.
Based on the best-selling book series by Mona Kasten, ‘Maxton Hall’ is described by Prime Video as its most successful scripted international Original series.
The upcoming season is based on the third book in Kasten’s series, ‘Save Us’, and will bring Ruby and James’ story to its conclusion.
The final season picks up with Ruby suspended from Maxton Hall College and her dream of attending Oxford slipping away. Refusing to give up, she teams up with James to prove her innocence. But as the pair move closer to the truth, the discovery threatens to tear everything apart.
The season will also test the relationships around Ruby and James, with friendships coming under pressure and unexpected secrets surfacing. The central question, according to Prime Video, will be whether “love is enough”.
Herbig-Matten returns as Ruby and Hardung as James, alongside Sonja Weißer as Lydia, Eidin Jalali as Graham, Ben Felipe as Cyril, Fedja van Huêt as Mortimer, Runa Greiner as Ember and Justus Riesner as Alistair.
The returning cast also includes Govinda Gabriel as Kesh, Andrea Guo as Lin, Frederic Balonier as Kieran, Eli Riccardi as Elaine and Dagny Dewath as Ophelia.
Martin Schreier returns as director for the final season, while Sandra Stöckmann and Ceylan Yildirim serve as head writers. Marlene Melchior, Catharina Junk and Aylin Kockler are additional writers. The series was supported by the German Motion Picture Fund.
The six-episode final season will be available on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and regions worldwide. The first two seasons of ‘Maxton Hall’ are currently available globally on the streaming service.
Prime Video’s announcement comes as the platform continues to build its young-adult romance offering, with titles including ‘Love Me Love Me’, ‘Your Fault: London’ and ‘Culpa Nuestra’ also highlighted in the statement.
