JioStar has announced ‘The Great Indian Cricket Festival’, marking the return of Team India’s home cricket season. According to a JioStar press release from Mumbai today, JioStar said the five-month season will run from September 27, 2026, to March 3, 2027, featuring four bilateral series against West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Australia.
The season will bring 22 matches across ODIs, T20Is and Tests, which will be available live on JioHotstar and the Star Sports Network. The season will begin with India taking on West Indies from September 27 to October 17. The series will feature three ODIs and five T20Is.
India will then face Sri Lanka from December 13 to December 27 in a series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is. This will be followed by a three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe from January 3 to January 9, 2027.
The home season will conclude with the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, scheduled from January 21 to March 3, 2027. The series will be important for India’s campaign in the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27, with every Test match contributing to the team’s bid to secure a place in the WTC Final.
The ODI series against West Indies, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will also serve as important preparation for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.
Commenting on the announcement, Anup Govindan, Head of Sales Sports, JioStar, said the five-month cricket season will give brands an opportunity to connect with audiences across different formats and major festive occasions, from Navaratri to Holi.
JioStar will also offer advertisers enhanced ad-tech solutions during the season, including sharper audience targeting and customised brand solutions. An upgraded version of ‘Jeeto Dhan Dhana Dhan’ will also be available to drive deeper fan engagement during live matches.
