Filmmaker Kushaal Chawla’s Dream Slate Pictures has partnered with BytePlus, the enterprise technology arm of ByteDance, to develop AI-powered filmmaking and storytelling.
According to a Dream Slate Pictures press release issued today, the partnership will combine Dream Slate Pictures’ four decades of filmmaking experience with BytePlus’ AI technology. The companies plan to use AI for advertising films, branded content and future long-format films and series.
The partnership follows BytePlus’ recognition of Dream Slate Pictures’ AI-powered film campaign at Cannes Lions 2026. Impressed by the creative use of AI, BytePlus approached the studio to explore a strategic partnership.
Under the collaboration, Dream Slate Pictures will get access to BytePlus’ AI video generation technology, upcoming platform innovations and technical support. The two companies may also work together on creative projects and global initiatives.
Kushaal Chawla, Co-Founder of Dream Slate Pictures, said the partnership aims to make filmmaking better, more democratic and more creative while keeping human imagination and storytelling at the centre of the process.
Dream Slate Pictures is also developing a feature-length Hindi film powered by AI, along with other long-format AI projects. The studio said the move is part of its plan to expand from advertising into AI-driven cinema and help establish India as a global hub for next-generation filmmaking.
