‘The Last Drop’, which focuses on sustainability and environmental issues in the Himalayas, has been selected for a screening at the Venice Production Bridge. The film market is being held alongside the 83rd Venice International Film Festival.
According to a PTI report, directed by Rajeev Thakur, the 25-minute film stars Arunoday Sharma and Isha Sharma in the lead roles.
The story follows two siblings who travel through the Western Himalayas. During their journey, they see the region’s fragile environment and the growing threat to its water resources.
The film also explores the concept of ‘virtual water’, which refers to the amount of water used to produce the products people consume. It connects this hidden use of water with the rapid melting of glaciers in the Himalayas.
Through the story, ‘The Last Drop’ aims to raise awareness about climate change, responsible consumption and the need for people to take collective responsibility for protecting the environment.
The selection at the Venice Production Bridge will give the short film an opportunity to reach an international audience and draw attention to environmental challenges facing the Himalayan region.
