Popular Israeli political thriller series ‘Fauda’ is set to return with its fifth season on Netflix India on September 8, 2026. The release date was announced by the Embassy of Israel in India.

Created by Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff, ‘Fauda’ follows an Israeli undercover unit and explores counter-terrorism operations, conflicts and the personal challenges faced by its members. Lior Raz will return as Doron Kavillio, the central character of the series.

According to an ANI report from New Delhi today,the upcoming season will also feature returning actors including Itzik Cohen, Doron Ben-David and Yaakov Zada Daniel. New additions to the cast include French actor Mélanie Laurent and Hakim Djaziri.

Season 5 is set two years after the October 7, 2023 attacks. The story will follow Doron as he deals with trauma before becoming involved in an unauthorised revenge mission. The mission eventually takes him into a deep-cover operation in Marseille, France.

The new season will have 11 episodes and will focus on the team’s efforts to prevent a major attack while dealing with the personal cost of the conflict. Netflix’s official Tudum page describes the season as a story about the fighters confronting the consequences of the war and attempting to stop a catastrophic attack on Israel.

‘Fauda’ has developed a strong international following for its action-driven storytelling and portrayal of undercover operations. The series is available to stream on Netflix, which currently lists it among its Israeli and action-thriller titles.
